Host

Depending on your requirements we can host your project on the Amazon Cloud, within our internal data Centre or can manage deployment on your own servers or hosting platform of choice.

Amazon Elastic Cloud (EC2)

EC2 is part of Amazons cloud computing platform. EC2 allows you to create virtual servers on which to host websites or run complex server based applications. EC2 allows scalable deployment of applications by creating new instances or servers as required. EC2 is a cost effective way to host while also allowing your application to scale as required.

Internal Data Centre

All our servers are monitored 24/7 by automated systems that alert members of staff in the event of a problem.

Our Internet connection is currently 20Mbit/s full duplex from Telstra, and has a live 10Mbit/s backup line, again from Telstra. The two lines are connected to different suppliers (primary connection BT, secondary connection Cable and Wireless) on different exchanges to minimise the potential for downtime. The two connections are configured to automatically failover in the event of a problem (and fail back when the problem is resolved).

All Servers are manufactured by Dell, run RAID5 and are supported by a Dell hardware warranty, network hardware is manufactured by Cisco or HP and all sites are hosted on a demilitarised zone protected by a CheckPoint firewall.

All servers have dual power supplies and power backup from a 10KVa UPS for brownouts and an 80Kw generator for longer term power outages and are in a secure air-conditioned server room. Hosting costs are based on hosting on one server, providing HTTP, FTP, MySQL and Email and are inclusive of up to two hours technical support a month. We provide up time checks for the site and firewall configuration. We also provide data backup. We assume up to 512kps bandwidth usage a month, if the bandwidth usage grows significantly higher than this we will assist in colocation of the site at a high bandwidth offsite facility.
